I got my first camera 50 years ago, a Nikkormat 35mm film camera that my brother bought while on R&R from active duty in Viet Nam. I’ve been taking photos of just about anything ever since then, purely for pleasure, not for sale.
The mating pair of Blue Herons were at Kountz Lake in Lakewood, the rest were in Denver. I’ve gone back again and again to shoot the interplay of the Holy Ghost Church with the 1999 Broadway tower. This fisheye shot is perhaps my favorite. The cyclist photo, which I titled “Stud,” shows a “fixie” bicycle, which is a single-speed, fixed gear bike (pedals keep turning whenever the bike is moving) with no brakes, meaning that the only way to slow down or stop is to exert backward pressure on the pedals. Designed for track racing, fixies are challenging street rides.
Thanks for looking…
